Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to produce stable, capable working dogs with clear heads, strong nerves, and the drives needed for real work and sport.

Our dogs are bred primarily for sport and working homes. Some puppies may be suitable for active companion homes, but they are not bred as casual pets.

Yes. Puppies are raised in our homes with structure, routine, and exposure to normal household life while still being introduced to the foundations expected of working dogs.

Breeding dogs receive appropriate orthopedic, genetic, and health screenings relevant to the breed and working demands. We primarily use OFA over PennHip due to clinic availability. Results can be found on the official websites, our social media pages, or you can request links if needed.

Puppies are kept on an age-appropriate vaccination and deworming schedule prior to going home. Health Certificates are done for those that require it for travel. Exact details are provided at pickup.

We evaluate each puppy’s temperament, drive, and development and match them based on the buyer’s experience, goals, and lifestyle.

Buyers may express preferences, but final placement decisions are made by Iron Sight K9s to ensure the best long-term fit. There are times we may narrow it down to one or two for buyer to meet and choose from.

For anyone wishing to do their own testing on puppies, it must be approved prior to meeting them and will only be considered for those with paid deposits. Puppies are evaluated through ongoing observation and approved structured assessments with an ISK9 member present.

Our pricing is typically between $2,000 and $3,500.

A deposit is required to reserve a puppy once approved. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable at the breeder’s discretion.

Yes, but the total cost must be paid in full prior to the puppy leaving us.

Spay/Neuter is discussed in our contract. It is not mandated, but if you choose to do so, it must be once the puppy is of appropriate age (18 months typically).

Reach out to us and we will assist any way we can. We have taken dogs back and have helped rehome dogs without them physically returning to us.

Puppies are exposed to people, surfaces, sounds, and environments in a controlled, thoughtful way. Field trips may occur, depending on the time of year or the age of the puppies.

Yes! We have a wide network and can help connect buyers with reputable trainers and clubs across the country in a variety of sports.

They can be, yes. But that is entirely on the owner and not the puppy. It is important to be honest and open about your experience, goals, and future plans in training for it to be a successful pairing.
